USBMate 1.1 for Mac OS X - Clean + Optimize USB Drives Before Ejecting
ZipZapMac today announces USBMate 1.1 for Mac OS X, its must-have utility that optimizes and accelerates the operation of USB Flash drives, external hard disks, and Flash memory cards. Available from the Menu Bar, USBMate removes all temporary files left behind, and its anti-virus routines automatically find and purge all AutoRun viruses that may be on the drive. Because thumb drives can easily carry viruses from infected computers, USBmate is an essential utility for all OS X users.
Novosibirsk, Russian Federation – ZipZapMac today is pleased to announce USBMate 1.1 for Mac OS X, its must-have utility that optimizes and accelerates the operation of USB Flash drives, external hard disks, and Flash memory cards. Available from the Menu Bar, USBMate removes all temporary files left behind, and its anti-virus routines automatically find and purge all AutoRun viruses that may be on the drive. Because thumb drives can easily carry viruses from infected computers, it is essential that users clean and optimize their USB Flash drives regularly with USBmate. According to Wikipedia, “USB flash drives may also be used deliberately or unwittingly to transfer malware and autorun worms onto a network.”
Feature Highlights:
- Convenient utility is available from the Menu Bar
- Optimizes and accelerates the operation of USB Flash drives, external hard disks, and Flash memory cards
- AutoRun viruses on the USB drive are detected and purged automatically
- Reclaim space on the drive by erasing unneeded data completely
- New, 1.1 update makes USBMate compatible with large, external USB-drives
Although modern USB drives operate seamlessly when plugged in to computers running Linux, OS X, or Windows, each operating system leaves behind invisible and temporary files and folders that take up space unnecessarily. Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion, and Windows all put temporary and other junk files (.DS_Store, .Trashes, .Spotlight-V100, Thumbs.db, etc.) on a USB Flash drive each time it is used. Launching USBMate each time before ejecting a USB Flash Drive will keep it clean, secure, and free of useless files.
When users erase files from a USB Flash drive, they are only moved to the trash. The data itself is not erased. Using USBMate allows users to see how much free space is really left on their USB Flash drive. USBMate is one of the most practical utility apps for everyday use with Snow Leopard, Lion, and Mountain Lion.
“We are proud of our new OS X utility, which was rated 8 out 10 by MacTech,” commented Stanislav Kuptsov of ZipZapMac. “This is the kind of inexpensive utility that every Mac user should own.”
Language Support:
- English, French, and Russian
System Requirements:
- OS X 10.6 or later
- 64-bit processor

Pricing and Availability:

Novosibirsk, Russian Federation – ZipZapMac today is pleased to announce Everyday 1.1 for Mac OS X, an update to their lifestyle app that reminds users to take a new picture of themselves, snaps the photo, and saves all daily photos in a photo album. Ideal for documenting looks and moods over time, the app can display photos rapidly as a time-lapse movie. Everyday allows users to set up photo reminders for any time of day, with intervals of one, two, or three days. The photo window displays oval eye-guides, so users can create perfectly sized and centered photos day after day.
Feature Highlights:
- Send yourself a regularly scheduled notification to take a self-portrait
- The photo window activates your built-in or USB camera, and provides eye-guides
- Snap the picture whenever you are ready
- View individual photos or create a time-lapse movie that compresses months into a few minutes
From the Preferences panel, users can set their recurring reminder for any hour of the day, and set intervals of one, two, or three days. Launching the app, the photo window allows Mac owners to view themselves, align their eyes inside the two oval guides, and then snap a photo whenever they like. All photos are automatically stored in the app’s Photo Library, and can be viewed as an album. Everyday also includes a time-lapse feature, creating a movie of photos. For example, 100 photos from the past year can be viewed as a 90-second movie. The resulting video will bring a smile to the face of everyone who views it.
“Use your Photo Album contents to make a fast-motion movie of your face. It’s like having a time machine!” stated Stanislav Kuptsov of ZipZapMac. “Entertain your friends and family with a unique kind of movie, produced over many months.”
